"The Jerusalem Road"
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
Isaiah 64:6-7 But we are all like an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and
our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7And there is no one who calls on
Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your
face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities.
Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lord’s hand is
not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. 2But your iniquities have
separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so
that He will not hear.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall
not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The
righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the
wicked shall be upon himself.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood,
and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for
it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.
Isaiah 53:1-12 Who has believed our report, and to whom
has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2For
He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry
ground. He has no form or comeliness;
and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3He is despised and rejected by
men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our
faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4Surely He has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and
afflicted. 5But He was
wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the
chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone
astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him
the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet
He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep
before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from
judgment, and who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions
of My people He was stricken. 9And
they made His grave with the wicked, but with the rich at His death, because He
had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to
bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He
shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. 11He shall see the labor of His
soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge
My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their
iniquities. 12Therefore I
will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with
the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with
the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the
transgressors.
Psalm 51:1-4 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to
Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot
out my transgressions. 2Wash
me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3For I acknowledge my
transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4Against You, You
only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight, that You may be found
just when You speak, and blameless when You judge.
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD, and He
accounted it to him for righteousness.
Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you
perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in
Him.
Daniel 12:2 And those who sleep in the dust of the
earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting
contempt.
