Spring 2019

As we begin 2019, we will be be working through the redemption account of Exodus. God redeemed those who were enslaved. He brought them out of their slavery, defeated their enemy, built up their faith, entered into a covenant relationship with them where He would be their God and they would be His people (Exodus 19:5-8).

The account of God leading Israel out of slavery in Egypt in Exodus parallels His redemption of people today in many ways, although now it is done through the Blood of Jesus Christ, who alone is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 14:6). He also enters into a covenant with us where He is our God and we are His people, and in this new covenant He gives us the Holy Spirit as a down-payment on that redemption.

The Old Testament Book of Exodus is more than relevant to us today, for "these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come" (1 Corinthians 10:11).
