February 2016

We are entering the second month with our new Sunday Service times.  Having swapped our morning Worship service and Sunday School, we now have opportunity to discuss the passaged used for the sermon (we are currently in Luke 8).  So far, there has been very positive feedback from this change and the discussion time during Sunday School has been going very well.  The benefits of discussion after the sermon are numerous.

Our Sunday Good News Club teams are preparing for the start of a new childrens' ministry that will cover those who are nursery age up through 6th grade.  This new ministry builds upon three years of Good News Clubs at the local school and as our summer VBS ministries.  We are very excited about getting stated and trust the Lord will continue to prepare us for the work He has for us to do.

February is Winter Missions Offering which supports missionaries in Senegal, Africa, Cambodia, and Youngstown, OH.  We stay in close contact with our missionaries and are thankful to be part of this global effort to reach people with the Gospel of Christ.  You won't hear me asking for money for us, but I do encourage, and personally participate in supporting local, regional, and global Gospel missions.  I also encourage you to get personally envolved in procliaming the Gospel of Christ in our hometowns and neighborhoods.  There is a missionfild right outside your door.

Related to local missions, we continue giving away pocket New Testaments.  Every week we hear testimonies from those of us giving these out to people we know or meet during the week.  It is very exciting to see people giving and receiving the Word of God in this way.  If you recently received one of these New Testaments, please stop by and see us for one of our weekly services; we'd love to say hello and have some fellowship together.

Grace & Peace,
pastor mark
